I mean, what I was also to tell you actually, I can't also move the files into the folders either, and to be honest, that was my bad, and I should've told you more of why this issue is giving me that much bother. When I have archived a new video into the said archive I was showing you, and when I tried to transfer the video into the folders faded and gray, it doesn't work at all in the slightest. Could there be any way(s) to remove this problem entirely if this system is going to be overhauled at some point?

I am in the process of deleting files for you. Some of the links you emailed did not work.

Also, this item is generally going to cause you pain. Items are not intended to be collections. They are intended to represent one work (a book, an album, etc.) by adding so many works to the item it is now bloated beyond what we recommend and may break at some point. I'd suggest creating new items for each of the works you are uploading.

Hope this helps.

While I understand how this would've happened as you've told me, I mainly used the folders to categorize the videos and what series they belong to. If the system isn't meant to handle this kind of tactic in the first place, then this is by default a flaw I've come across. I just wanted this system to be much better than it was now, fix the issues I've encountered, and to make the system more compatible with what I was trying to do, in other words, categorizing the videos in order to make them easier to locate within an archive I've created.

that is what metadata is intended for.

What I'm doing is a much simpler way. I was trying to categorize the videos by transferring them over into the folders within my archives, and now that's not allowing me to do that. However, the metadata mechanic doesn't let me do the same thing at all. I just wanted this fixed and overhauled at some point, to make the system better than it ever was. It doesn't benefit people that wanted to transfer the files into the folders as a way to make them easier to locate, for the archive to appear more organized, and to also again, categorize them on what the videos are related to, and what series they come from. That's what I really wanted to expect to work.

the way people find things is through search. search relies on item level metadata. that is why it is best that each work be in its own item, so it can have the unique metadata it deserves and be findable.

If that's how it's going to be from this point going forward, then the thing that angers me beyond belief as of right now, is the fact that I literally have to start over from scratch. I will not allow that, I just want what was explained to you fixed, and I really want what I was requested made possible by implementing that specific change so I can transfer files into the folders in order to organize them by series, and what kind of videos they are. Is that much to ask?

managing files will be fix. I just do not have an estimate of when that will happen.

That's okay though, many thanks for getting my feedback in regards to the flaws I've discovered on the file management system. And just in case, I'm also sorry if I was giving you some bother, it's just I was desperately frustrated of seeing my archives being grayed out despite the fact I was doing what is best in terms of organizing the files, like I have done within TheInvertedShadow Archive.

no worries. i understand. we allow alot of flexibility. because of that some use is not exactly as intended and it's not easy to predict all the ways people will try to use the site. feel free to email with questions you might have.

Despite it could take a long time to get the stuff fixed, and not knowing how long it'll take, you are free to inform me once its getting worked out, and once it's done. 👍
