The Internet Archive (IA) uses Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) to provide DRM for some books. Is there a way to read these books on the vast number of Amazon Kindle Fire devices?
I cannot find an Adobe Digital Editions product in the Amazon Kindle Fire app store.

Estimated global digital tablet sales in recent years is provided by the famous market intelligence firm International Data Corporation (IDC) at https://www.idc.com/getdoc.jsp?containerId=prUS43549518 . Amazon, maker of the Kindle Fire tablets cited in the previous post, had estimated total tablet shipments of 12.1 million units in 2016 and 16.7 million units in 2017.

Get some FREE apps to read DRM-protected IA ADE books from the Google Play store ( https://play.google.com/store ). These can be "sideloaded" onto the Amazon Kindle Fire by using the FREE ApkLeecher site ( http://apkleecher.com/ ) to extract the germane *.apk file for any such app. Once in the Fire's "Download" folder, touching an *.apk file will start the installation process. (Use the Fire's Docs applet, go "up" a level, then select "Download" to get to the *.apk file.)

To read *.epub versions, I use the "Bluefire Reader" app. It also lets one download free public-domain books without use of the Internet Archive at all, and sells other e-books as well.

To read *.pdf versions, I use the "Adobe Digital Editions" app.

Alas, as I write this, neither of these reader apps can do TTS (text-to-speech) rendering of the loaded book. Does anyone know of app which can read IA ADE books and can?

There have been major changes in the Bluefire Reader world. An article dated 29 August 2019 in "The Digital Reader" at https://the-digital-reader.com/2019/08/29/bluefire-reader-has-been-retired/ had warned of such changes.

While the Bluefire Reader is still available via Google Play, it is no longer free, and now costs US$2.99. But my old free version continues to operate just fine, as does integrated access to an associated library of e-books, including many free ones in the public domain. (These come from http://www.feedbooks.com - which anyone, Bluefire Reader user or not, can access manually.)

Because of the changes, I am not surprised that when I try to use http://apkleecher.com to extract the .apk for the Bluefire Reader at Google Play, it is no longer possible.

The Bluefire people make available on Google Play an alternative e-book reader to their non-free Bluefire Reader app, a free app called Cloudshelf Reader.

Unfortunately, when I try to use http://apkleecher.com to extract its .apk (for sideloading on the Amazon Kindle) it proves impossible.
