I was encouraged to re-post here (the substantive portion) of a post I had made on Sep 30, 2009 at https://archive.org/post/267245/off-topic-sorry-where-do-i-post-general-ia-ideas

We'd all like to see the IA available without charge. But some people would be GLAD to pay (e.g. via PayPal) for ENHANCED services - like the ability to force a quick crawl of their Website as a means of third-party attestation, or the ability to access a thick pipe for downloading.

Let me add that, if desirable, such payments could be "taxed" above actual costs to finance improvements in free services available to all.

I would say that "taxing" , fees, and dishing out any form of extra privileges for money, sounds a bit..iffy IA is there, it's free for everyone..And making it more free for some, for financial gain, doesn't exactly ring true with 100% free in my book. And not to mention; Couldn't implementing such mean that IA could then risk loosing it's legal "nonprofit organization" status? (i'm not well educated in US law) https://www.irs.gov/charities-non-profits/private-foundations/life-cycle-of-a-private-foundation-starting-out Wouldn't it be better to simply donate by conscience?
