Some out-of-copyright IACL recommendations |
Hey,
Since I've been editing the metadata on these books, I've been checking out some of the neater titles, especially the out-of-copyright ones that there are no restrictions on - here's a couple of (completely unofficial) recommendations:
1. Anything
scanned by the Library Of Congress tends to be from their Rare Books collection, and is generally beautiful and well worth checking out - there's Web-viewable version of all of these on the external ICDL site, too.
2. There's a
number of books scanned by Gretchen Phillips which still need descriptive metadata adding, but are great quality. Titles like
'Fun And Frolic' are wonderfully of their period, and a good festive-themed title is
'The Night Before Christmas And Other Popular Stories For Children' - basically, all of these books are excellent, and should be popping up on the external ICDL Books site soon.
Regards,
s!

There are also some great out of copyright materials that are marked source: Public Library System. Many of these books are from Vietnam, Cambodia, Iran, etc.
