Jack Johnson items here need to be Audience recordings only, as specified in his policy section.

The following items appear to be in conflict and unfortunately should probably be taken down:
1/1/00: http://www.archive.org/audio/etree-details-db.php?id=1384
11/28/00: http://www.archive.org/audio/etree-details-db.php?id=1313
4/6/01: http://www.archive.org/audio/etree-details-db.php?id=1316
4/23/01: http://www.archive.org/audio/etree-details-db.php?id=1383

It's possible these were sent in before Jack even sent word, so these would be understandable oversights. For the future, folks should definitely refer to the policy section first before uploading. Thanks!

I am pretty sure Jack would be OK with all of these recordings staying up. I work with Frank Frake on www.holestoheaven.com and i'll forward him this thread so he can give the kinda 'official' answer since he was the one that got the initial OK from jack himself to be a part of the archive.org project.

From what i understand, when jack asked for SBD sourced shows to not be uploaded to the archive, he was talking about the few SBD live recordings that have leaked out from within his camp to friends who give them to friends, etc. Specificially, this is 5/26/01, 5/27/01, 5/28/01, 7/16/01, 4/26/02, 1/29/00 SBD live recordings. These SBD's should NOT be uploaded, as to jack's wishes. The admins should be carefull, though, since for 4/26/02 there are two other AUD sources that are ok to have (an AT831 source from Boogie that sounds like a SBD b/c it is so good, and a CoreSound Stealh (mono) > Sony MZ-R55 source from Thomas Aikin. Along the same lines, there is a very poor quality AUD recording from 1/29/00 as well)

The shows that are up are OK because they are things that are not regular live shows that are SBD sourced. both 1/1/00 and 11/28/00 are radio interviews that were probably FM broadcast, and were converted to .shn. 4/6/01 is OK because even though it is a live SBD sourced show, the audio was captured from a webcast, not a direct SBD patch at the show. Since even now anyone can watch the live concert for free online, i'm sure jack would be okay with this recording. The same goes for the 4/23/01 audio which is a video interview that was broadcast on Yahoo.com and just the audio was captured.

If any specific Jack Johnson questions are needed in regards to the shows here at archive.org, i'd be more then happy to pass them on to Frank or Jacob.

Hello, my name is Jacob Tell and I am co-owner of Oniracom Corp. We develop Jack Johnson's website and have direct coorispondence with Jack Johnson Management. It is okay to keep these shows up according to Jack and Management-- basically, as long as nobody is profiting off of the live recordings, and the taper of the recording is okay with freely distributing their tape, then it's fine from the administration end.
Please email any questions or comments to us here at Oniracom: info@oniracom.com
Thank you all for your support, keep up the good work, and go see live music!

Ah, great to hear from you! I will fix up the policy section to clarify things.

To clarify, it is OK to post SBD recordings of Jack Johnson's band prior to Zach Gill joining. This includes shows of Jack solo acoustic or as a three piece.

Thank you,
Jacob
