The Internet Archive, with the support of O'Reilly Media, is hosting an evening demonstration of the vending and lending of books in web browsers on a variety of different platforms. The showcase is the keystone event of a two day summit held to examine the rapid transition towards books on the web.

Demonstrations include:
  • Browser-based ereaders and reading applications
  • Discovery via BookServer, search engines, Open Library
  • Publisher mechanisms for selling books in browsers
  • Library mechanisms for lending books in browsers
