John Chiang - An amendment to the California constitution gives state lawmakers until the end of the week to pass a balanced budget or forfeit their paychecks. But after last year's showdown between legislators and State Controller John Chiang, which sparked a lawsuit, a court ruled that the legislature is the only body with the power to suspend its pay. We talk with John Chiang about his battle to withhold legislators' pay last year and the possibility that legislators will withhold their pay this year if they don't pass a balanced budget on time.
Sac City Budget Vote - The Sacramento City Council voted on the budget for fiscal year 2012-2013. We'll hear from Capital Public Radio's Regional Reporter Bob Moffit on how they voted and what cuts we can expect.
Bee - Folsom-based French filmmaker, Raphael Hitzke, will be screening his award-winning short film "Bee" at this year's French Film Festival in Sacramento. The film explores the disappearance of honeybees in the United States and features original music by Jean Benoit Dunckel (Lost in Translation). The film will be shown at the Crest Theatre Saturday, June 23 at 10:30 am following a free breakfast.
