"We can never obtain peace in the world if we neglect the inner world and don't make peace with ourselves. World peace must develop out of inner peace." The Dalai Lama
In this 4-week course we'll investigate afflictive emotions and learn how to apply their antidotes.
The Buddha observed that the cause of our suffering is the disturbing emotions we all experience. The good news is that by using his methods we can free ourselves from afflictive emotions like depression, anger and resentment and become happier, more useful people. This series looks at the basic Buddhist psychology of how the mind works and how to work with it using very practical terms. Once we grasp an understanding of this Buddhist view of the mind, we can learn to apply proven techniques for working with even the most difficult of emotions to become more contented and satisfied. This allows us to become more able to help others.
The class will combine study and meditation.
Great for beginners or as a refresher for intermediate students.
